Fat is where it’s at

Many infertility patients have diets deficient in appropriate levels of healthy saturated fats.  Lean protein and lowfat dairy products cannot sufficiently nourish our cell membranes and immune systems, and, when used consistently, threaten our fertility. It is important to incorporate healthy traditional fats into our diets, including quality sources of butter, beef, fish and milk - the key is in the quality as not all of these are produced the same way and, due to the increased factory production and denaturing of foods, the nurtitional value is rendered useless.  This becomes ever so important during the IVF process, as the body’s state of health is inevitably compromised by the harsh fertility drugs.  The benefits of saturated fats and cholesterol are best demonstrated in breastmilk, which is abundant in both due to their critical role in growth and development.
